The initiative works under the supervision of the Public Authority for Disabled Affairs, the Office of the Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, and the Resident Coordinator in the State of Kuwait. and relevant authorities. The initiative aims to:

1- Strengthening and highlighting the role of the disabled in society, by increasing job demand among the disabled category to engage in work and harmony in society.

2- Highlighting the role of government agencies, private sector entities, and civil society organizations in activating the concept of partnership in social responsibility to support these groups.

The national initiative (Sandhem) supporting inmates in correctional institutions

The initiative works to implement the model rules for the treatment of prisoners adopted by the United Nations in 1955 AD, address the essential features of daily life in the correctional institution, and achieve the social, legal, and humanitarian dimension of the State of Kuwait’s plan for sustainable development (New Kuwait 2035 AD). It also seeks to develop the process of reforming and rehabilitating inmates in a humane and dignified manner from the moment they enter the correctional institution, and continues until after release and integration into society with the highest level of efficiency and excellence through qualitative training and providing them with job opportunities. And achieving social security.

(We Deserve a Chance) initiative for those recovering from addiction

The initiative works to support addiction recovery programs and rehabilitate the recovering group from several health, psychological, and social aspects to overcome the addiction stage and reach the recovery stage completely. The initiative seeks to strengthen the principle of social solidarity, through which the competent authorities are dealt with in addressing behavioral and psychological problems, and proposing appropriate solutions to them in accordance with the best international and humanitarian practices.

(Amal) initiative to support women and youth projects

The initiative works to support women and youth projects, and to give them the professional skills necessary administratively and technically to manage their small and micro projects, and to market their products through channels that support the principle of partnership and social responsibility. Violent persons, those of unknown parentage, juveniles, and the indigent are benefited from this initiative.

In this context, the Association emphasizes its important role in supporting these groups in a way that contributes to the effective and positive investment of the first groups in social care, which achieves the building of an effective society that invests all human energies positively and achieves comprehensive social development.

Training curricula preparation unit

This unit works to prepare special curricula for social care groups and people with disabilities in cooperation with the relevant authorities in the country in accordance with international standards with the highest level of educational and professional quality that are compatible with the requirements of the job description adopted by the labor market in the State of Kuwait.

Psychological, social and academic support unit shared with the relevant educational authorities

The Psychological, Social, and Academic Support Unit is one of the executive institutional arms of the Association, in partnership with relevant institutions in the country, as it works to provide all procedures and activities related to everything that contributes to improving the psychological, social, and academic level of social care groups.

This is in addition to providing initiatives and projects that support social welfare groups, whether from the psychological, social, or academic dimension, enabling them to qualify and integrate socially, psychologically, and economically as normal individuals like the rest of society.

In addition, the unit works on an academic dimension related to building academic capabilities from an applied perspective, in addition to another aspect related to academic support based on transforming scientific theories into practical applications in the psychological and social aspects.

A unit for measuring and evaluating quality of life standards for social care categories and measuring development indicators

The unit works to measure and evaluate quality of life standards for social care groups through (11) sub-standards adopted by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, which include employment, income, housing, work-life balance, security, life satisfaction, health, participation in civic life, and the environment. , education, and social interaction. Whoever has these lives a quality life.

Hence the importance of this unit due to its specialization in measuring these standards for social care categories in the State of Kuwait. And measuring development performance indicators.

Partnerships, international communication and exchange of experiences unit

The unit works to build bridges of scientific and academic communication between scientific institutions in different countries, and to expand the exchange of experiences in the field of social care groups and people with disabilities.

The unit aims to learn about the experiences of others and benefit from their expertise, in partnership with relevant local and international bodies.
